The Mind

Why Mindset?

A positive mindset is probably the most important component to facilitating positive change. Without it we drastically reduce the likelihood of making significant improvements to our lifestyle, health and wellness.

Mindset influences how we interpret challenges, how we respond under pressure, and how consistently we follow through on positive behaviours over time.

Benefits

  • Reduced stress levels
  • Improved mental clarity and emotional balance
  • Greater energy and motivation
  • Increased confidence and self-belief
  • Supports immune function and resilience

How Mindset Works

The way we think shapes our internal experience. Thoughts send signals to the body, influencing our nervous system and the chemicals that create emotions.

When we think in the same patterns repeatedly, those thoughts become familiar responses. Over time, they form habits and automatic reactions that shape how we see ourselves and the world around us. If negative thought patterns are repeated often enough, they can become the default setting, reinforcing the same emotional responses and behaviours again and again.

The 95% vs 5%

Most people move through life operating largely on autopilot. Around 95% of our daily thoughts, behaviours and emotional reactions are driven by the unconscious mind, made up of learned habits, beliefs, emotional responses and memorised reactions built up over time.

The remaining 5% sits in the conscious mind, where intention, logic and decision-making live. This is the part of us that wants to change, set goals and do better.

The challenge is that the conscious mind is often trying to steer behaviour while the unconscious mind is running the programme. This creates an internal tug of war where we genuinely want change, yet repeatedly fall back into familiar patterns, leading to frustration, self-doubt and the feeling of being stuck.

The Shift

The brain does not clearly distinguish between an imagined experience and a remembered one. Repeated thoughts, especially when paired with emotion, can strengthen new neural pathways.

By consciously practising new ways of thinking and feeling, it is possible to weaken old patterns and reinforce new ones. Over time, this creates new habits, new reactions and a more supportive internal environment.

When thoughts and feelings are aligned, behaviour begins to change naturally. When they are not aligned, internal conflict often prevents lasting change.

Daily Practice and the Reset Loop™

Daily mindset exercises are most effective when they follow a simple, repeatable structure. This is where the Reset Loop™ comes in.

The Reset Loop™ helps bring awareness to automatic thinking patterns, creates space to reframe unhelpful thoughts, and supports more intentional emotional and behavioural responses under pressure.

  • Awareness: noticing thoughts, reactions and emotional patterns as they arise, rather than running on autopilot
  • Reframing: consciously choosing a more supportive perspective or response
  • Resilience: practising the new response consistently, even when old patterns resurface
  • Integration: allowing the new way of thinking to become the default over time

With regular practice, the Reset Loop™ helps break unhelpful thought loops and replace them with calmer, more constructive responses. Over time, this improves outlook, emotional resilience and self-confidence, while reducing the pull of the unconscious patterns that previously drove negative reactions.
