The concept of using acupressure therapy has been used in physical healing for thousands of years, with the ancient fakirs using sharp metal nails hammered through huge blocks of wood.
Although successful in the day, the ancient technique needed to be modified to suit the modern day lifestyle. The latest acupressure mats are now made up of several hundred plastic spikes, that apply pressure to the point of contact on the skin, stimulating the creation of Dopamine, Serotonin, Endorphin & Oxytocin.
Our acupressure mats are made of 100% Cotton, Recyclable ABS Spikes, Coconut Fibre (Mat) and Kapok Fillers (Pillow).
The Science
There are 12 meridians in our body that conduct the flow of energy, sometimes this flow of energy can be blocked through stress & tensions. When there is a blockage in the flow of energy, this can affect a multitude of things such as our mood, appetite, movement & general health and wellbeing.
Acupressure mats work by applying pressure to our body through the spikes to release any built up tension. This rebalances the flow of energy throughout the body, restoring the body's natural energy flow.

How to use
The Kidda Body & Mind acupressure mat works from the moment you sit, stand or lay on it.
Acupressure mats can be used on soft or hard surfaces, dependent on how comfortable you are using them. Upon contact with your skin, the spikes get to work stimulating your muscles, releasing endorphins and improving the circulation.
Our acupressure mat can be used from head to toe, relieving pain, exhaustion and improving your general health & wellbeing. We suggest you start using the mat lay down, on a bed or hard floor, with a thin tee shirt on.
Once you have got used to the sensation of the spikes on your body, remove the tee shirt and increase the time spent on the mat.
We suggest you tailor your sessions around the times you need an impact. There is generally no time limit for use, however should you stay on a mat for longer than 90 minutes, the skin may be a little tender shortly after getting up. We recommend a maximum of 60 minutes, but it is personal choice if you wish to stay on the mat for longer.

#TopTip
Avoid coffee and alcohol immediately after an acupressure session, as both cause dehydration and reduce the ability to flush the toxins from your system.
